Said they were from Microsoft Windows. Indian or other accent. Said his name was Brad Brown, the supervisor that I talked to. He then proceeded with what the first guy was saying.
My 80-year-old mother got a call today from this number - Brad Brown with an Indian accent -- just like the scenarios described above. She spent over 30 minutes on the phone with him and hung up when he asked for money, but they had already breached her computer through showmypc.com. We've changed passwords, but are now worried about malware threats. Be aware!
I would like to ask people to block their number for ID and call these people back and try to get them to pay you for your time. At least tie up their lines with worthless questions. Do they have rights?
I JUST GOT A CALL FROM THIS NUMBER AND FROM A PERSON CALLED bRAD bROWN, OBVIOUSLY A SCAM BECAUSE IT WAS FROM MY DAUGHTER'S COMPUTER THEY WILL COLLECT 110.00 ON MY CARD I JUST FOUND OUT THAT THIS IS A SCAM TRYING NOW TO FREEZE MY CREDIT CARD
Received call from someone with Indian accent saying he worked for Microsoft, that my computer was messed up and sending error messages. He said his name was Nick and he would help me fix problem by giving me instructions to allow him access to my computer, etc. I told him no.
Caller called and I said I was on do not call and hung up. He called back and said he was with Microsoft tech. I told him I needed to verify that he was real. He tried to direct me to do something on my computer and I declined. I asked for a number to call and he gave me 202-47-9179. He said ask for Peter. My smarter than me wife looked up the number on google and found out it was a scam.
