Born in the morning, just not this one
Caller wanted bank information to give me a "seed grant" of $9,000. I kept him talking for a while for my own amusement. When I asked whether he really thought I was stupid enough to give personal information over the phone and told him the "federal government" was perfectly capable of cutting a check, he hung up. A definite scam.

They just called my bf to tell him he was one of 15000 people picked for a free $9000 grant and they could send him a card or put it in his bank acct. He told me to look it up but I know this is a scam.. No such thing as free money!!

Print out the following.
Give a copy to your BF.

Things to believe:

• There ain't no such thing as a free lunch.
• If it sounds (or looks) too good to be true, it probably is.
• You have not won big bucks from a benign benefactor, a pot of pesos from PCH, dinero from a doctor, or a grant from a gracious government    <<<<<<<<<<
• The tooth fairy really does not exist
• Everything you read on the internet is not necessarily true.
• It is illegal to ask for money for a loan or prize, before awarding the loan or prize!
• "Free Trips" are loaded with mandatory & costly extras, and you usually must give them your card number after listening to a loooong spiel at a hotel.
• Microsoft or one of their agents did NOT cold call you to fix your computer.
• The moon is not made of green cheese.
• The IRS will snailmail you, rather than phone you, if there is a problem.
• Jackalope milk is not an aphrodisiac.
• If you "green dot", MoneyGram or Western Union money to a scammer, the money is gone.
• You should beware of Greeks bearing gifts, specially if the gift is a wooden horse with termites.
• The 876 area code is NOT your lucky number, and does cost money to call it!
