They called my 82 year old mother's cell phone and told her that her grandson was in trouble, she only has one grandson and he was standing beside her, including my brother and I. When mom started cursing and telling whoever was on the phone just what she was going to do to them if they ever called her again or said anything about her grandson stunned us all. When she promptly hung up the phone we were all staring at her in dismay. Then she told us what they said, then we couldn't help but laugh. But i was glad of her quick thinking cause i remind her a lot about the scams out there.
The mail indian caller said he was calling to give me 9000.00 of us grant money. He asked for a bank account, just to see what he would say, I told him I did not have any bank accounts or cards. He said I should get one and he would schedule a call back. I laughed and asked for their website. He hung up... lol.
Just got a call from this number from a man with a heavy Chinese accent. Said he was from a US Governmenal Agency I have never head of. He said I was chosen to receive a diamond ring worth $9,000.... So I hung up. I am sure he would have asked me for a debit or credit card number had the conversation continued. Some poor innocent soul will bite :(
Just received a call from this number stating I was a good citizen and paid all of my taxed on time so I was going to receive a $9000 U.S. grant. Caller had a heavy accent and was very hard to understand, she hung up as soon as I said this was a scam. I tried to call the number right back and got a recording that the number had been disconnected.
You have to apply for a grant to get one - idiots I hope no one falls for this. Sadly sure they will just called my cell phone I hung up after initial pitch
