They called my 82 year old mother's cell phone and told her that her grandson was in trouble, she only has one grandson and he was standing beside her, including my brother and I. When mom started cursing and telling whoever was on the phone just what she was going to do to them if they ever called her again or said anything about her grandson stunned us all. When she promptly hung up the phone we were all staring at her in dismay. Then she told us what they said, then we couldn't help but laugh. But i was glad of her quick thinking cause i remind her a lot about the scams out there.
Just received a call from a woman with a heavy accent saying some bull about the government selecting ME to receive 9k that I don't have to pay back! I said, "Really!?!", all sarcastic and she said "yes" all pissy then continued to say some other blah blah about giving me an ID number and another phone number to call where a man will help me with my finances. I laughed and she hung up on me.... :-( what about my 9k lady?!?!?!?
"John" from the US Government (and a thick Indian accent) called to give away $9,000. I asked him what company he was with multiple times and he hung up. For what it was worth I filed an FCC complaint. Hopefully, that at least keeps these types busy switching phone numbers. Less time attempting to scam people and more time covering their [***].
