I got the same call. The IRS doesn't call people with grant money. They also would never ask you to pay any money to receive grant money. All of these people are foreign and get mad when you question them!!
I just received a call from one Mr. Johnary, claiming to be working with the US. Federal Government of Grant at the Treasury Department in Washington, DC. (IP Call 25485), saying that i have to receive a grant of $8500 for a clean criminal record after a survey was conducted. However, they said for me to be eligible for this grant, i will have to pay a deposit of $250 for security purpose (which is refundable) and there a non refundable fee of $11. Nevertheless, for this to be effected i had to call one Mr. Sam Smith (202-436-9948) for payment procedures and i was given a verification code (LOD411).
Please, this is a SCAM.....
