Oh, I forgot, every time I called, obviously Indian man (very thick and hard to understand accent), used a different English/American name. Luke Wilson, Dan Miller, etc. Yeah, I don't think so.
They are still at it. I answered because I'm close enough to DC to periodically get area code 202 calls. This is my fifth call of this type. Today was a fake John Smith from the fake IRS. When he said he was from the IRS, I said, "yea, right" and hung up. So he immediately called back. Didn't answer. Same strong Indian accent people have mentioned.
Just got the call this AM @7:45 - kept asking for my husband who was not at home - told them i was his wife and asked what they wanted - said they were with the IRS and there was an issue with our tax filing - I said if you have our tax info you know my name as I was listed as well - his name was Daniel Brown. I asked where he was calling from and said IRS and I said which location and no answer - asked for his number and gave me this number and that I would call back. While I was calling back I did a search on the number and this web site came up. A woman answered with the name of Michele Brown and I asked her if she was related to Daniel Brown and said she did not know who it was. I told her it was from the same number and told her she was a scam artist and she hung up. I called back and got hung up on, I called back again and a woman answered and asked "please stop calling" and hung up. I called back and got a man and told him to stop trying to stealing people's hard earned money and that I know people at the IRS and the Secret Service Fraud Division and was going to report them and the number - his response "why would you do that - why do you care if I take other people's money". My response - "May God strike you down and take care of you on judgemet day" and hung up. Total dirt balls - I hope someone can stop these people!!
