I receive calls from this number at all hours of the day....at least once a day. My caller ID says "out of area" and they never leave a message so I feel sure it is not someone I know. I just wondered who it might be.
It is NFIB National Federation of independent businesses. They are a legitimate organization. They have been lobbying to get the federal govt to stop creating regulations that are putting independent businesses, out of business and killing the Job market. If you want to work for someone other than the Govt. or if you are a small business owner, they are trying to protect you.
Caller ID says "National Capital." Don't know anything about these people. There are reports of something called "National Capital Management" trying to collect on phony debts but I don't know if this is the same thing. I don't have any debts, old or new. Don't know who this is. Will report if they call again.
Replying to myself. Just found out who this is. It's National Capital Teleservice. It's a telemarketing company that handles solicitation for a variety of clients ranging from charities to surveys, etc. This is their web page and this phone number is on the home page as a contact. Mystery solved.

That said, I still don't want these people calling me. It defies understanding how that simple message doesn't seem to get across. Don't call me. If I want to donate to a charity or have my opinion known, I will do so and I will select the charity or forum. My decision, not yours. Do not solicit me. It simply defeats your purpose.
Woman called claiming to be from the Association of Financial Professionals and inquired if my boss, John Karr, wanted to renew his membership. He doesn't have a membership with them, nor had I ever heard of them. Found out when I googled the phone number (202-546-6874) that she lied, and it is someone trying to raise money to fight legislation.
