Received a message from 202-580-8685 saying I was under investigation for tax evasion. The gentleman who left the message barely spoke English and his grammar and sentence structure was horrible. Definitely a scam. If I were tax evading, the IRS would be knocking on my door, not making incomprehensible phone calls.
Left message claiming I was under investigation for tax evasion and that I should call to address the matter. No claim of working for IRS or any official agency. Caller had accent. Sounds like Scam
My husband just got the same thing - said he was under investigation for tax evasion. Did not give any names just company name. Very heavy accent. I called it back and they answered IRS - but when I asked for a name or how they worked they hung up on me.
