Exactly as others have described. Heavy foreign accent. The guy identified himself as "Agent Tom" of the IRS LOL. Why not just go for broke and use "Major Tom" right? Local PD could care less and just said let them know if it keeps happening.
24 June 2015 Received the same call from 202-580-8685. Said he was calling about a 'lawsuit application' filed against me (obviously clueless!) and 'you are under federal investigation for tax evasion' (right, dude!). Sounded dumber than a box. Putting a bunch of 'scary words' together doesn't create a believable message!! Thanks for all your posts about this scam! I'm in the Denver area. Don't know if these calls are being received nationwide or just in my local area.
