Just received call from this number on my cell phone. Sunday 12:30pm.. They hung up before it went to voice mail. Then did search on the number. It is now blacklisted and I won't be bothered again. Thanks for reporting. There ought to be a way to
I contacted my state attorney general and they were quite rude specifying that since it is a scam and NOT a telemarketer, they cannot take a report. I cannot seem to locate a number to call this 'company' back to ask them to remove my name. Does anyone have a number to contact them that will actually answer? I've tried all of the ones listed on this thread.
I just started receiving calls from this number and have never answered. They only let it ring three times and then hang up. I have registered both my home number, and my cell with the Do Not Call Registry in 2003. They have really helped. I just went in and filed a complaint giving them this number. Sometimes it takes a few times, but even though they say they don't help individuals (they investigate the company), if you register a complaint every single time, they do, or it would seem that they do because after two or three weeks of filing a complaint, it stops.
It is some woman and she calls like 3 times a day. She says she is Christine Peterson calling. I try to answer it and it is a recording this is getting to be a bother. What can I do to keep her from calling me? I don't have call blocker associated with my phone service. She doesn't leave a number to be reached at. Every time it shows a different number on my caller id. Can you please help me. Thank you.
Invest in a device that can be programmed to automatically reject unwanted calls. It will be well worth the money. Otherwise, the calls will continue.
This is a criminal extortion scam operating out of India. They are making the calls utilizing VOIP and the names of legitimate firms to make it appear the calls are originating from within the US. There is NO "company" or "debt" and you will NOT be arrested. They are harvesting and/or buying consumers' personal identifying information and you need to do whatever you can to protect yourself. This includes: Notifying the FTC: https://www.ftccomplaintassistant.gov/, placing fraud alerts with all three credit bureaus, notifying your bank and employer and letting these criminals know you are aware they are attempting to extort money for a non-existent debt and have alerted the authorities.
