I just received a call August 8, 2013 at 3:33PM. From a guy who can barely speak English telling me he is from the government and I have been awarded an $8,000 grant that can only be used in good faith. That if I don't feel comfortable giving him my bank account information I can give him my credit card information so they can deposit the money into my account. I laughed at him and told him that wouldn't be happening and that I do not want his so called "money". He then hung up on me.
I have received two calls this morning from this number saying they are the US Treasury and they have grant money for me. I asked if they were scammers and the first guy hung up and then a gal called. I told her I was on the no call list and to remove me from their call list. She hung up.
The Indian man who called me from this number was very rude and kept trying to convince me he was legit. I told him I wasn't born yesterday. I said any info he had for me he could mail. He asked for my e-mail and I refused. He asked for my street address and I told him that if he was legit, he would know it. The I told the man I was on the Do Not Call list and he had the nerve to say "Then why did you answer your phone?"! I told him he was a jerk and hung up. He then tried calling me back. I also get calls from 202-202-1234. Might be same group. Too bad that there are people who believe them and give them their personal info.
This number calls me up to 4 times a day, I usually decline & the times I answer they hang
Up , once my friend answered & said STOP [***] CALLING & they were gibbering about something , I couldn't understand , but yea don't answer
