Who called from 2028641240

If the number that shows up on your caller ID is a MAGICJACK # (I called mine back 707-266-9019 and it said it was a magicjack customer), then write to them and tell them that these guys are using their service for IRS Fraud.

I got a call from (607) 723-9891 (it shows as Payphone on the caller ID) and told me to call IRS at (202) 864-1240. The message claims that "IRS is filing law suit against me and this is the final notice".

Same voicemail, then I check in google first, can't believe so many people had same experiences on this scam. I wonder if IRS is taking any action about it?

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

I too received a call from an automated voice message on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2014 claiming to be the IRS pursuing a law suit against me. They said to call the number 202-864-1240.  I assumed it was a scam and I googled it, found this page and reported it to the IRS.
