Just received a call from officer Melvin. Voice mail said that he was from the IRS. Legal notice for tax evasion to be filed at Federal Court House within 15 minutes of his message if I do not call back. Arrest warrant to be issued. Since I have no tax problems I figured it was a scam. Left no case number. Googled 202-864-1620. SCAM
I answered the phone but didn't say a word......the stupid idiot thought he had voice mail and proceeded to leave a message about a tax warrant and garbage. I *67 that number back and acted like I was the state senator calling regarding complaints about that number..I gave him the riot act and he hung up on me. What an idiot. I then called back several more times, this time they picked up but didn't say anything. Once I started talking they hung up. I even tried to call to say I'm calling to make a payment........nope. Just hung up on me.
It was the same thing, thick accent, etc. It is a totally see thru scam that is badly tried. Everyone needs to know the IRS will NEVER call you like that. Even if you owe them, they will send letters to you. It made me laugh.
Has called here twice this morning, I too have failed to pay my taxes. We live in Maine so I guess it is all over the place. Same story as above. Crazy, and sad that some people will fall for this.
Voicemail from "Officer Melvin" with the IRS threatening an arrest warrant for tax evasion. And before he goes ahead with that warrant, could I call him back with information? Yeah, right....
