This was an automated call from Working America asking me if I'd take a phone survey. I hung up. You could google for more info on them. Supposedly affiliated with AFL-CIO.
I had half of a message on my voicemail of some guy half-yelling at me to call my Senators right now about the stalling of presidential appointments. The recording also assumed I'm a Democrat. Hahaha- not.
I have signed petitions for Working America from time to time and had provided my number only because the contact forms of my congressman and senators require it. NOT so they could call my CELL PHONE whenever they feel like it. I'm also on the AFLCIO mailing list.
I left AFLCIO a politely nasty email through their website. I'll post back if the calls stop or not.
I wonder if people leaving fake numbers (not wanting to disclose their real number when signing online petitions) are the reason why a lot of you are getting these calls.
The hang ups are because whatever call center is placing these calls is using an autodialer and no worker was there to answer when you did. These dropped calls are illegal.
It's not specifying if somebody is a Democrat or Republican. If you were more liberal and had listened, it was an automated survey from http://www.norc.org/Pages/default.aspx regarding political opinions.
