This call is far too typical for the aggravating, troublesome, time-consuming calls that come to my phone daily. I signed up for the program that disallows this...supposedly, but they continue. I assume that only the DMA members subscribe to the wishes of the public and don't call them. That means to me that if they call, they are not members of the Direct Marketing Association and therefore have no credibility. Don't bother with them.
Just got another call. This one showed MY NUMBER as the incoming number on caller ID. Curiosity got the better of me, and I answered. Heard background noise like in a phone room, but no one spoke, so I quickly hung up. There is something definitely screwy here. How can another caller show the incoming call as my own number?
I had that happen to me also where a call came in showing my own number I called the phone company and they told me it's someone number spoffing its where they can make it look like there calling from any number they want. The phone company also told me that the FCC is looking into it. But I also blocked it with my caller id blocker box. For anyone who is intrested in getting one go to amazon.com put in caller id blocker and pick the one you want. it works on all phones in your house and as far as i know it works on any phone company service. you can block up to 1500 numbers and a lot of area codes. you don't even have to be home to block them just check the box when you get home and if you find a number that you don't know just hit block and your done. its the best 60 bucks i ever spent. its better tha the do not call list which we all know it unless. hope thiis helps have a great day
