I answered before I checked this website. It was a computer voice that just said "goodbye". I thought it was funny. Now I know not to answer this call.
Thanks to everyone for posting!
Calls every day Aaround the same time. I never picked up, leaves no messages. must be an electronic dial system. Anyone has any idea how they get the numbers?
On February 16, 2015, yesterday morning, my husband received a phone call from 205-632-0015 regarding "Credit Card Services."
Today, I received a phone call around 9 am. Unknown who it was from as the number was blocked and marked "private."
Tonight at 7:53 pm a woman asked for me by name and wanted to tell me about "breast cancer awareness." I hung up. I tried *69 to find out what number she was calling from; but my phone service said it was an international number & couldn't retrieve it.
I know it's pointless to keep on documenting these callers, but it's important to note that I don't give out my private, unlisted, not listed phone number & I still get these calls.
(205) 632-0015 Robo call recorded 19 February 2015 ("Carmen at Cardholder Services...reduce your rate...consider this your final notice..." Credit Card SCAM)
Caller ID: "Survey"
"Carmen" calling me back one month to the day after assuring me, "...consider this your final notice..." and even after telling me (many times) I didn't qualify for their "lower your rate" offer because I pay my credit cards off in full each month.
The recording of this "lower your rate" call is exactly the same past calls but from a new number to avoid call blocking. The recorded message is their usual patter (see below) followed by a 7 second pause, then they say "good bye" and disconnect. when I failed to press any buttons.
Their total disregard of the Do Not Call list certainly tells us a lot about their business ethics, doesn't it?
Here is a transcript of their latest offering:
[female voice] "Hello, this is Carmen at Cardholder Services calling in reference to your current credit card account. It is urgent that you contact us concerning your eligibility for lowering your interest rate. Please consider this your final notice. Press the number 1 now to speak with a live operator and lower your interest rate or press the number 3 to discontinue further services. Thank you and have a great day."
[7 second pause] [female voice] "Good bye".
Thanks to Google Voice ( www.google.com/voice ) you can hear this recording on my Spam Calls web page:
I no longer answer 'unknown' calls. Instead I check here & if it's not noted here as spam, I 'might' call them back. If it is spam, I block the number. They called today from this number & they'll now have to use a different # to get my ph to ring
Received call stating it was from cardholder service, and all I could hear was people in the background laughing. No one answered, just a group of people laughing.
