This is not a "crank" call or someone with too much time on there hands. These are very malicious phishing scams, I would advise if you get these calls report it to your service provide and they will normally block the number from there network.
It is a Total Scam to get spmeone to pay through a pay card money that they really do not owe. I have been receiving calls off and on for several months now first from a man with a heavy, probably Pakistani accent, claiming I owe money and that he is from the Interneal Revenue 'Department'. I looked up the Internal Revenue 'Department' and there is no such thing. What was also a red flag was that on my answering machine I say GOD Bless at the end so when the scammer claiming to be an agent with IRD, LoL, SMH, left a message at the end of it he also said GOD Bless and if he really was a professional IRS agent I don't even think they would be allowed to say GOD Bless. And when I checked about the INTERNAL REVENUE DEPARTMENT on the Internet I found many complaints anbout it from some who have been scammed and those who were sharing about the scam. It is the Largest phone scam ever and there is not much that can be done about it. There even was some recording that a security officer provided of him pretendingto be duped and the guy who was the fony agent acted at first like he was not sure about why he was calling but after he found out that the guy calling was an American ajd calling about the message he got about owing money the guy made the threats that he had to pay money. Then he tranferred to another man with an accent as well guiding him how to send the money. The security guard told him that he only had a certain amount of money on him which was a few hundred dollars or so and that the bank was closed. So the scammer accepted the amount and guided how to go to a store and get a card to put the money on then transfer it to the scammers, something like that. The securty guard played a long the whole time but knew what was going on. Then the tape ended. It was to show evidence to this scam. Now I received a similar call and this time it is a computer generated female voice saying that (this time it is the actual IRS, I don't think so.) It is the IRS Internal Revenue Service and they have been trying to reach me (For one the only person trying to reach me in the past was a man with a strong accent claiming to be from the IRD Internal Revenue Department who also said that it was my final notice.) And that this is my final notice, the IRS is filing a law suit against me. So again I did some research and looked up this number the computer female voice provided which is 206-201-2799 and came across this site and others showing it is a scam. And this is not even close to the number that called me which is a number with a 7 at the beginning if the are code that I did try to call only to go to a voicemail of a mannamed I think it said Scott Wasspe or Scott waffle, something like that. Anyhow, it can be scary to some and even bothersome.. it is good that there are sites like this that help ease that and ThanKs and ThanKs to all who Share. Maybe someone could call and ask them what part of Pakistan do they reside in, since I have read several reports on the scammers being from Pakistan which is probably right? Since the guys do sound like they are Pakistani. If someone who works with the IRS or is familiar with their rules called them up and asked them questions and told them their rules and how they do not practice calling people who owe money with threats of prompt payment and then see what they say and do back, probably they would just hang up but at least they will see that they are found out and not so good at scamming, except maybe to those who are unaware of what is going on. I Hope This helped somehow, someone and I Hope it stops soon. ThanK GOD for YOUR Divine Intervention, In The NAME Of LORD JESUS CHRIST, Amen. -|- ....... GOD Bless Everyone :-) . -|-
Received this call today stating that I was being sued by the IRS. I called the actual IRS and they instructed me to fill out a report online with the IRS and the FTC as this constitutes federal wire fraud. I doubt anything will happen but I feel better about it. They scared the crap out of my wife.
