They're doing the IRS telephone scam. They've tried it before with me. They will threaten and try to get you to give them money. Don't do it. The IRS has warning on their site about the scam. https://www.irs.gov/uac/newsroom/scam-phone-c ... uspicious-calls.
Unbelievable scam aware! They have heavy accents & will tell you that they are with the IRS and that you filed your taxes wrong and that it is a criminal case and then when you question them more or tell them to contact your attorney they will call you fowl names & hang up on you.
Today is the second time I got a call from this #. Left a voicemail. Fist time, about 2 months ago, was from a gentleman from the IRS with a heavy accent. Second time was a recording from "Kelly from the IRS". Didn't realize it was the same #. Definitely has the red flag of scam.
Called and harrased me and told me there was a miscalculation in my 2011/2014 taxes and asked for my social security and asked confidential information. When i realized they were not the irs they hung up and wouldnt answer the phone anymore.
Male left a message on my land line, claiming to be an IRS officer, stated that had a warrant for my arrest. He knew my first and last name, even though my phone line is registered with a different name.I called the number; he claimed to be calling from Washington DCafter normal business hours, refused to give me his name and hung up.
Got a call from this number this morning, claims we have a warrant out for our arrest from the IRS. I will call the number back from work (attorney's office) and see what they have to say for themselves.
