They're doing the IRS telephone scam. They've tried it before with me. They will threaten and try to get you to give them money. Don't do it. The IRS has warning on their site about the scam. https://www.irs.gov/uac/newsroom/scam-phone-c ... uspicious-calls.
Someone claiming her name is Kelly Watson left a voicemail claiming to be from the IRS and to call her back. I already knew it was a scam since IRS will never contact by phone.
Received a call from this number and when I called back they answered IRS department. I had to keep from laughing. I said that it was odd because this was not the phone number on the IRS website. The "gentleman" responded "ok, how can I help you?". I then stated that I would really like to get a legitimate name because I was calling FBI Fraud Division to report this number and that I had recorded the conversation and would be turning it over to them. He told me to go ahead and do that and I thanked him for his permission. Lol! He then told me to have a good day and hung up. Gosh I love messing with these guys. The saddest part is they will find someone who will fall for their scam. They usually prey on immigrants, non-English speaking and the elderly. I hold phone companies partially responsible for these scams. They have to get a phone number initially from a provider. If carriers were held partially liable then there would be higher criteria to obtaining a phone number.
