When I mention that they are breaking the law by calling me, they hang up on me.
This a scam. These people are also known as Card Member Services. My advice is do not press any numbers. This notifies there automated call system that you answered the phone and they will continue to call. If you do not know the number then don't answer.
My story's the same as everyone else's - on do not call list but have received multiple robocalls from these people. My ans. machine picks up on the 4th ring and they leave a recorded message about lowering my interest rates. Since I have paid no interest on anything for more than three years, I guess that means they will pay ME. I filed a donotcall.gov complaint - everyone else should do the same, and be willing to pay adequate taxes to fund enforcement.
