also called by/to same number yesterday but doesn't show on cellphone's missed call log, only as an event. Plus I got two robocalls by this same number on my other cellphone yesterday. I chose not to use the keypad to try to get a human since the script said I would thereby consent to further calls from their unidentified selves ("credit card services isn't an entity IMHO).
I believe this is really a scam debt collection call by nco or convergent/altanta relating to an alleged medical debt--my insurance company referred me to an out-of-state provider with no expertise in my diagnosis and that "healthcare" provider saw fit to multibill from five different addresses/entities (in yet other states). My insurance company still selects providers based on their non-expertise in my condition, and said afterthefact they can bill for at least 2 copayments per visit. Last year I got a human debt collector (from this entity which also spoofs phone numbers) who said that the FDCPA doesn't apply so long as they all call themselves the medical entity. Now these calls just hangup without leaving a message. The medical entity advertises heavily but on the advice of counsel doesn't sign for certified letters (although USPS shows them delivered), and also believes in altering their electronic medical records (saying only paper copies can be bought by patients under applicable law).
The insurance company invites me to get other insurance (now that I have an untreated preexisting condition) and says it can cut off my coverage if I generate bad publicity for it. It also advertises heavily about the [nonexistant] integrity of its medical records. It also brags of its great relationship with HHS and the state attorney general's office, which stopped health care fraud prosecutions for acts after "obamacare" while railing against it, supposedly because a new state legal opinion authorized medical record alteration. Sadly, the FTC delegated healthcare debt enforcement to HHS/OCR, which does nothing. FCC also has jurisdiction since this is a cellphone, but it likewise does nothing.
I'm not surprised that 800notes.com, on which I've posted some of these schenanigans, gets a DNS attack days after the election robocalling season ended. These scammers play both political parties, and political robocalling is big business too. FYI, I've been plagued each election season by "survey" robocalls--but not this year. They ended a few weeks ago after I posted the scammerlinks on this site.
I know everyone is trying to make a living, but really people, have you no sense, wonder how they would like 10 calls in the same day from some dolt feeding them a line of horse hockey!!
It's going to get so bad that we will all cancel our phones. The silence would devastate these pricks and the phone companies would be giving us free phones.
More lowlife scum calling. I don't know who is worse, the clowns calling or th government employees at 'Do Not Call' who allow this to continue while sucking up my tax dollar? The first folks in line for my 'north end of a south bound mule' award are the companies selling the lines to these crooks. My carrier, COMCAST, is useless in trying to stop these calls.
