calls everyday 4 rings then hangs up...caller Id says WINNER...I'M SICK OF THIS CRAP!!! CAN'T EVEN GO TO THE BATHROOM WITH THE DAMN PHONE RINGING FROM THIS NUMBER
Yes, they SHOULD comply, but you're better off getting on the Do Not Call registry (if you're not already on it). If a caller violates the list, you can go after them with federal charges and potentially get paid. Also, another advantage of the DNC list is that it is subscribed to by legitimate telemarketers to scrub their call lists. For the most part, this just leaves us with the bad guys. And, as someone else said in another post, pushing a number to be removed from a call list is NOT a good choice since it does validate the number.
My last advice would be to deal with the unwanted calls as best you can (maybe you just don't answer - after all, they won't call forever, maybe you get on the DNC registry, etc.). But, the biggest waste of time that I see consistently is people who just get on these forums and just complain. Unwanted calls aren't your fault, but if you want things to change, you have to take some appropriate action. Think about it this way - you get hit from behind while sitting at a stoplight. It certainly wasn't your fault and your were inconvenienced - but you still gotta deal with it.
The Do Not Call Registry is a JOKE! Stop telling people to get on it. I receive MORE calls now that I'm on it, than I ever did before I registered. Believe me...when it comes time to renew....it won't be happening in our home! As for fines, fees etc....who are you kidding? The feds can't even trace these folks because of the spoofed numbers, and even if they could, it wouldn't matter to the morons who are calling. They just pay the fine and keep on keeping on. Pleeeeese....get real "Arnold"......
This is my first time on this site, and I only came to check out the phone #. Personally, I simply ignore the idiots and don't answer my phone. What I find funny are those people who come to this site and say things like: "stop calling me", as if this site can do anything about it! LOL!
Sandy, if you want off the DNC, you will have to go to the site or call to OPT OUT. The DNC was made permanent a few years back and it eliminated the need for renewal. However, it did create a need to opt out when you no longer need it.
