I just got a call from these people telling me that I am getting a government grant and to go pick it up at Walmart. But first that want me to call 202 684 6332 for more instructions.
Having problem with my computer I recurred to the advertisement in the Internet which read:" Internet Support"
the guy had an accent from India or Pakistan,he was kind, told me he fixed the problem, sold me a program to
"protect" my computer for 2 years ( he wanted to sell me one for 5 years $ 500! ) I didn't think more about it.
One month later, my Credit Card was charged with $1,250 several purchases on Pay Pall ( I never in my life had an account with Pay Pal !) I investigated and the charges were done in California, Nevada and Seattle., by some place called Microsoftmyadviseco. My Credit Card company worked in my favor gave me another card and erased
the fraudulent charges. I imagine that " while working on my computer" those people got all my information and
went shopping to Pay Pal where they opened the account on my name!. Therefore now: If I need a technician I find a trustworthy one near my home. Be careful all of you out there those criminals are having fun at our expenses.
A guy with a heavy accent called me from this number, misprounouncing my name, and told me that someone was calling them to complain that I'm sending spam to him from my email. They had my email address!!! He told me someone has hacked into my computer and told me to get on my computer and type in some letters after I hit the window key. I asked what this would do and I couldn't understand what he said but I figured it would give him access to my computer. I told him my computer was very slow and I was at work so I'd have to call back--could I get a number. He said "yes, the number is 1-800" and hung up.
Said he was offering the free quote I asked for when I asked for what our business relationship was; said he was from CA despite the WA number; hung up fastwhen I said I had to keep him on the line long enough to trace the call so the feds could add him to my identity theft case. I still feel I was lying LESS than him...
