I just got a call from these people telling me that I am getting a government grant and to go pick it up at Walmart. But first that want me to call 202 684 6332 for more instructions.
I got a call today from this number. A man with a thick Indian accent said he was calling from Microsoft to tell me that their systems showed multiple threats to my Windows computer, which he could fix if I followed his instructions. I've received similar calls over the past several years and know from the news this is a scam, which of course, I told the gentleman before hanging up.
Area code is Washington State (Seattle). Called, with a very thick accent, asked for my wife. Then said they were in Washington, DC with the Treasury Department.
I immediately said "No you're not". Whereas, they immediately hung up.
Just got a call from this number; the woman with a thick, non-American voice said that she was calling from the IT department about my computer - I don't have a personal computer AND my work computer has IT and security that I would call myself. I told her I called bullsh*t and she proceeded to ask me where I got such a nice name from and then hung up on me. I swear these jerkoffs need to get a life because bothering me in my life is becoming a bit tedious and frustrating.
I asked them to take me off their calling list after I told them several time to stop calling me.
The man who called replied with a heavy non US accent that I needed to change my number.
Received a call from a woman with a heavy foreign accent. She was looking for my husband. I asked her what she wanted. She told me that she was calling from Windows and my computer had malicious malware on it. I laughed at her, told her she was a joke, and said goodbye and hung up. It's not the first time these idiots have called. They've tried me on my cell phone too. The best part about all of it is my computer and any software are in my name, not my husband. I was going to play along and pretend I was really old and have my son talk to the idiot and give them a bogus password, like urabutthead, but they are a waste of time. It's good to have a laugh once in awhile, even if they don't realize it's at their stupid expense. Be cautious people! Anyone who says they are calling from Windows or the IRS, are trying to scam you. You have two choices, either play along and poke fun at them, or don't answer the phone. Tired of these stupid idiots and their attempts to scam us. They call at least once a day, and I generally don't answer. This time, I wanted to hear what they had to say.
