I got the same call and when I said I could not understand her, she repeated what I said and hung up.

Called twice and hung up when I answered.

Said there was a mistake on my w-4 from years past, i owe thousands of dollars...blah blah. I said "So?!" They hung up.
I'm self employed. There are no W-4 for me! :-)  IDIOTS.

Got two calls today. Indian accent. Hard to understand. Said I owe federal tax from 2008 to 2013, being audited. Said they sent several certified mail notices to my address and they're calling to see "what's up". Why have I not replied to anything. Seriously...the IRS calling to ask "what's up"!!! Lol. I asked for copy of paperwork that they supposedly sent by mail. She said she could not release paperwork to me because it's already been sent to the courts and unless I settle it NOW, there'd be a warrant for my arrest. I demanded a copy of paperwork. She said' "What's more important...that I get paperwork, or I avoid arrest?" She said I should pay by electronic federal tax payment or something like that for the $1968 that I owe. Would I like to pay full amount or partial amount. Apparently I'm supposed to follow instructions on how to pay that in cash through that payment service, which by the way, I checked online and is an actual payment service. So, these scammers are trying to act like they know what they're saying. I told her I'm going to speak to my husband. She said I could put her on hold. I said that my husband wasn't home. She said, "Call him now. I'll wait." I told her I need my phone. "You don't have another phone to call him?" I told her I was going to call the IRS directly. I hung up on her. Oh yeah, as if to scare me, she said the phone call was being recorded and that they'd use it as evidence in the courts when I had to appear to defend myself. I'd better watch out or all my assets would be frozen. Woman's name was supposedly Mary Jones.

Indian accents and hard to understand, knew our address, claimed they had sent us a 501 notice three times. said a warrant was issued for our arrest unless we wanted to pay and settle out of court. The man (Peter Thomas badge id CH 120591) was getting mad, calmed down, handed the phone to his supervisor "Mary Jones" badge id 1900546 who claimed the call was being recorded. She said I was now involved in the case too (the supposed lawsuit threat for a tax problem from 2008-2013 was against my parents). She threatened to take away our passports and other items. The local irs office has supposedly been trying to reach us. Now, the court case number is CA 8511TX. I said I would contact the court house to see the case number, but no the case wasn't filed yet since the lawsuit wasn't filed yet, but yet there was already a case number? There was a warrant, yet there was no failure to appear in court since there wasn't even a case filed yet? They had me going there for a moment and scared me. The woman ended the call on a theatening note that they were now moving forward. They had said they were calling from the Audit department of the IRS and the number was 206 866 5656. When I called the number a man answered with an Indian accent and he said it was the audit department of the IRS. Let's be real here. When you call the local offices, they don't provide telephone service. When you call the IRS customer service line you can't get through because of high call volume. However when you call the "IRS Audit department" you get through after the first ring.... This is so disgusting, like a pathological liar. How do these people have the audacity to get mad at you on the phone? I wonder how these people sleep at night with such despicable actions???? Disgusting and a waste of time. How dare they do this and so intrusively on your personal cell.
