This is a scam. They called saying that there was a lawsuit against me for a paid day loan. They have called my cell and my job. At first i believed it than i started thinking about and asked for more information and the number to the company and they would not give me any futher information on the lawsuit other than saying i need to pay them X amont of money, but i refused. About a month went by and they started calling again, this time when i mentioned my lawyer the hung up on me. so please do not fall for this scam.
I had a message from this number on my voicemail at work. I could undersand less than half of the message due to a very thick accent or lisp. I caught the name Jimmy Jimmy Jantana. I had an investigator from the Sheriff's Office record the message to play back on their equipment. Still could not understand much. The investigator called the number back and told them who he was, and they immediatly hung up. I googled the number, and found this site. I have never in my life applied for a pay day loan. The only thing I can think of is I got a JCPenney credit card recently, and their statements come from another credit company "GE Credit". I would really like to know where these scammers got info on me. Has anyone else connected this with their JCP credit card?
No...JCP credit is managed by GE Money Bank (GEMB). If you have filled out any application online for a payday loan then they have all your information.
I too have gotten something from GE credit I am now wondering if that is where it came from. I am calling them tomorrow and complaining. I also have filed numerous complaints with the us attorney generals office and the FBI Internet crime unit. I encourage all of you to file a complaint. Unfortunately I am not sure what they can do. I have only called back once and would never give my name. I too asked for a name, address, and phone number but they hung upon me. They stopped for a little while but started back last week. They are now calling my supervisor and asking to speak with her. I warned her that this was not legal and they are trying to scam me. I guess they think they you will just pay them off so they will stop. I guess they just don't know me!
These morons call me every day. Rather annoying so I contacted a lawyer, I was sure that I couldn't be thrown in jail for a consumer debt. Exspecially for one that doesn't exsist. This lawyer informed me that they've been trying to track these idiots down, and not to give them anything. It's annoying but look on the bright side, you can mess with them all you want! what are they going to do? call the cops? My advice, inform the morons that you know their a scam, tell them you have contacted law enforcment, and then ask them if they would like a jail cell that faces north or south!
As far as I know they haven't contacted my place of work yet, but if they have knowing my boss, he ignored the message. I will inform him though, it's the holiday season and we're busy. Perhaps my bosses can use messing with these morons as stress relief....lol
ive been getting calls from these people for thepast 3 months saying that if i dont pay them i will "suffer the consequences" just yesterday they called me saying if i didnt pay them 500 dollars by this morning that i will be arrested...i called the police and made a report and called them back saying i was with my lawyer and this man claiming to be"joseph green" told me to shut the F up i laughed at them lol but now i wanted to give them a taste of their own medicine and the number has been disconnected...ugh these people really piss me off i just wish i could give them a piece of my mind
