Robo call from GE Security with a recorded message that due to high incidents in my neighborhood, five homes were being chosen to receive the On Star home security free of charge. Pressed 1 to have myself removed, and was never connected. Called ID only shows "TEXAS."
I only answered because the ID said "San Antonio" so I thought it might be a friend; I know a few people in Texas. Arghh, a telemarketing robo call with a recording about "recent crime in my area". Of nobody buys into the scam, this company will go out of business. Can't imagine anyone falling for it, actually giving out their credit card info; not even the dumbest of the dumb would do that! Right? .
Just called. Said Texas on caller ID. Missed the company name but wanted me to press 1 to put a small sign in my front yard. No, I don't. The No Call lists are useless because the volume of these telemarketers is so massive, the FTC can only prosecute less than one percent of the complaints. So they know they can get away with it. I will never, NEVER buy anything from someone who calls me on my personal home phone number. But as long as someone does, these companies will continue to do this. I am seriously considering dropping my home phone.
