Valid call from USAA, was a message from my home equity adviser who is working on the closing documentation for my new house. The person who called is specifically who i have been working with (for about a month) regarding my closing. She requested no call back.
received a call and tried to return the call they will not answer. They say they will call back. I am on the Do Not Call List and this is the 4th call I received since I just changed my number 4 days ago
I've received several recent calls from this number, as well as one slight variation on it (210-456-1815).
I do have an account with USAA, so today I called their customer service number directly. I see the post from the USAA rep above - however, customer service told me that calls from the company would always have an 800 number attached. She also searched the USAA directory for any 210 numbers and could not find them.
So, it's either a case of fraud or miscommunication, only because I'm willing to concede that the cust service rep may not be able to search the "outbound" numbers - we have those where I work as well.
I still say be wary - don't call the number back directly from your cell phone, and don't give out any info. Call USAA fraud directly, verifying the 800 number from their website
I received a call from this number and a second call 20 min later from the 1815 extension. I missed the first call - both dealing with potential fraud on a USAA account - sure enough there were several fraudulent charges. The numbers are legit but I would still use the listed 1800 numbers to call back.
I was at work and got a call saying that they needed me to send a fax to them and in the fax they needed my social security card and my drivers license. A little strange but I then called the main USAA # and they said it was not a fraud. They did need that information.
