Come on, people, use your head. It doesn't do any good to report this to the government, possibly because the government is already in bed with the credit card companies and since you don't have as much money to bribe Congress as the banks do, you lose. With a prefix of 000, you have to know it's a scam/ spoofed number and the government can't trace a fake number. Of course, they can't do much right, anyway, but this number is not real. The DNC does not protect you from anything and so many gullible people seem to have touching faith that the government is watching over them, keeping them safe. Grow up for goodness sake!
received a call this am saying they wanted to reduce my interest rates..
i stupidly pressed '9' and a man said 'Experian' gave them my info, asked my total credit card debt. i answered and the line went dead.
i called experian and they said they NEVER give info to anyone, this was a fraudulent call, thankfully, i gave them no account numbers
AVOID AT ALL COSTS. Scammer phishing for credit card info. Call started as recording stating it was Card Services calling and you qualify for a rate reduction to 6.9% on your card & to press 9 to speak to the next available agent. I've also read where an agent picks up immediately then tries to get you to reveal credit card & personal info. Definite scammer using this # at this time, then will move on to another # when the law starts getting close.
I was told they could lower the APR's on my credit cards. He wanted to know how much credit card debt I had (I didn't tell him). I asked him exactly how they lowered APR's on credit cards, and was immediately "disconnected."
