Come on, people, use your head. It doesn't do any good to report this to the government, possibly because the government is already in bed with the credit card companies and since you don't have as much money to bribe Congress as the banks do, you lose. With a prefix of 000, you have to know it's a scam/ spoofed number and the government can't trace a fake number. Of course, they can't do much right, anyway, but this number is not real. The DNC does not protect you from anything and so many gullible people seem to have touching faith that the government is watching over them, keeping them safe. Grow up for goodness sake!
I just received a call from 212 000 4712. was a recorded message about lowering credit card debt. it said press 9 to talk to a credit specialist. so I pressed 9. I woman answered. she asked me if I had credit card debt. I told her I would like to removed from her calling list. she asked me about my credit card debt. told me that she can help save me money. I told her I wanted to be removed from the list. she transferred me to someone else. this was a man, he asked me about my credit card debt. asked me if I had my 128 character password. that was sent to me after president obama was elected. I told the person, I wanted to be removed from his call list, he told me he could do it for $39.95. then asked me for my credit card number. I told him I was not giving anyone any money or credit card numbers. he said he could do it for $9.95 to give my credit card number. I asked him for his credit card number, I told him I had a great product to sell, its only $99. so he starts reading off numbers to me. I asked him if he would like to know what product he was buying. he just kept reading me numbers. he eventually just hung up on me. it was some kind of call trying to get names and credit card numbers. it is some kind of scam. beware. do not give them any information. SCAM!
I just got a call from this number AT 6:00 PM ON FEB 17/2009 and guess what yesterday received a 10.00 a charge on my checking acct.from something called SKYPE.COM been reading on the internet and other ppl are getting these fraudulent charges and now phone calls and then a isa fee of .08 and now apple i tunes 1.00 and microsoft office 1.00 on my checking acct too going to bank to stop this . watch out beware of these charges and this phone number i did not answer the phone if they call back they will be hearing a loud noise thru the phone maybe blow out their ear drums if there lucky .
Well reported this to the attorney general because i am on the do not call list and they suggested the rest of you to do the same .so please call the attorney general's office or contact via email and report this phone number
