NEVER let a cold-caller get access to your computer. NEVER give them your credit card information. If you are having computer issues, deal in person with a reputable computer shop. I fell for this scam half a year ago. They say your computer is reporting errors, and it is so, but it is a normal part of Windows operation to report problems to Microsoft to improve the software. They promise to fix your computer, and did make some very minor improvements to my machine's speed (mostly by removing start-up clutter, something that I could do myself). They promise you will have permanent access to their services for a low low price of "X", but don't tell you they will dun your credit card $20 a month for the service. I had to close out my credit card account to stop the hemorrhage.

This number, (212)425-4079 has been calling all day long. They don't leave a message and it says New York on my caller ID. I am glad I came here to check it out as it is a scam like I thought.
