I just turned off the ringers on all my phones a few years ago. Almost of these scammers don’t leave a message and when I hear someone leaving a message is the only time I know there’s an incoming call.
Been keeping a list of “Missed calls” from my caller ID for a while now. I’m up to 405 crap calls so for this year with a month and a half to go. It just thrills me to know that the FTC is doing such a good job in eradicating these scumbags.
Are you filing a complaint on the donotcall.gov website?? I'm doing it every time...don't know if it's doing any good, but we have to bombard them with complaints!
I used to file every call with the DNC lists, both state and national. It became too time consuming and the calls increased. It's a waste of time. They can't find most of this scums harassing us and it just justifies the deparmtnet and jobs for people who can't do a think about the calls. Best thing is get a blocker or use your phone carrier blocks on numbers that call more than 3 times. Do not answer unknown calls. I turned my ringer almost off so I don't hear it if the TV is on. If I'm expecting a call from a number that may not be identified I answer, and occasionally I get a scammer. Some of these low lifes have called at all different times of day to try to get us. They keep changing numbers, especially the medic alert targeting seniors. As long as people are naive or stupid enough to fall for these scams, the calls will keep coming. We hear a lot of warnings on our local news about the lastest scams and it's hard to believe anyone would fall for them without checking them out. Maybe I'm smarter than I think I am.
Rec'd call @ 1:58 pm Mtn Std Time - id shows Isein M ... before I could say "hello" ... man's recorded voice said "press 9 to opt out" ... I am sure it's a scam or telemarketer! Whatever, I hung up and added to blocked list (as usual it's almost full). What a pain in the butt these people are. Get a real job!!
Caller ID identifies this number (212-662-9124) as belonging to Merdjam Isein, located in New York. Call was received in the Seattle area. Another website identifies his number as a landline. The area code and prefix (212-662-xxxx) match another likely scam caller, earlier today, which has 9-pages of complaints here on 800notes.com! Suspecting a scam call center. Now we have the name of one of them! This caller, as well as the earlier caller, hung-up after three rings, without leaving a message.
If you say it out loud: I see in (French swear word), as written Isein Merdjam. I could be wrong? Hate these calls. They are starting on my cell phone. too.
