I had to answer this note. My husband passed away three tears ago the first of November, So I am also a widow.
The caller hangs up after 4 rings so I never spoke to him/it . When I tried to call back the number is NOT is service.
I had my phone number unlisted [ landline] and how can you add to Do Not Call when the number ""IS NOT IN USE""
My daughter gave a cell phone so most of the family and emergency calls are on the cell phone.
Ellie ~ I know exactly how you feel being alone makes the "asinine" calls. My husband traveled quite a bit so sometimes it dulls the pain of the corrupt a$$e$ that make the calls. You will be in my thoughts with good wishes. Also ~REALLY amazing about our names being so much akin.
Note: On 12-02-2014 (Tuesday), the same day I received the call, I called Tel: (212) 662-9720 back.
A voice message said that this number is no longer in service.
Please put us on your "Do Not Call" list.
Rang 3 times and then stopped. Caller ID showed New York. Tried calling it back from a different line and it says the number you dialed is not in service.
That's not surprising. These guys manipulate the caller ID to any name or number they choose. I am a widow. My husband died three years ago. Imagine my surprise this past week when I received a call from him from our home number to our home number. Some sadistic SOB. I, too, have DoNotCall.gov. As a Realtor I had to obey the laws and could not just go cold-calling. These guys are looking for ways to make money and they don't care how they do it or whom they hurt. Just keep on reporting every instance to the DoNotCall.gov number--and register all your phones with them.
