I just turned off the ringers on all my phones a few years ago. Almost of these scammers don’t leave a message and when I hear someone leaving a message is the only time I know there’s an incoming call.
Been keeping a list of “Missed calls” from my caller ID for a while now. I’m up to 405 crap calls so for this year with a month and a half to go. It just thrills me to know that the FTC is doing such a good job in eradicating these scumbags.
Midafternoon today, this caller abandoned at four rings, barely at the FCC "safe harbor", so we have no direct evidence of identity. The "Isein" name appeared as Caller ID CNAM here as well, but this of course was not the caller. I do agree with other comments citing an illegal medical panic button seller, for several reasons.
My poor Dad has been pelted with these canned calls all summer. All but one have abused the same Manhattan exchange, many of them illegally abandoned at two or three rings, and frequently the crooks spoof numbers used by apparently real New York residents with non-business phone directory listings. The identifiable spoof victims tend to have, let's say, "international" names who are likely dumbfounded by this criminal activity. The real thieves making the calls may be betting the Gothamites are recent immigrants lacking the knowledge to complain properly about their numbers getting jacked.
