This number just called me. I answered once, no response on the other end. I will never answer again. Because of the economy there are hundreds of scams and fake bill collectors out there trying to make money.
YOU SHOULD ALL GET TOGETHER PHONE NUMBERS WITH 213-232 STARTING IN 213-232-4300 - 4399 OR GREATER IS A BIG SCAM OFFICE DEBT COLLECTORS. I'VE BEEN SEARCHING THIS WEB SITE AND THESE PEOPLE HAVE MANY PHONE NUMBERS UNDER THIS COMPANY WITH COMPLAINTS. GO UNDER MANY NAMES ECT WITH THE PERSONS WHO CALL U AT HOME ECT. IMPERSONATION LAW OFFICIALS OR ATTORNEYS IS A FEDERAL CRIME. DO NOT GIVE THEM ANY INFORMATION, SSI#'S, BANK ACCOUNT INFORMATION ECT. THIS ARE ILLEGAL DEBT BUYERS OR SOME HOW ARE SEARCHING THE AREA OF A FORMER PERSON WHO OWES A DEBT AND WILL SEARCH LETS SAY. IF YOU LIVE IN (LA) AND THERE ARE 5 KNOWN ( JOHN PIPS) WITH IN THE AREA AND THEY ARE LOOKING FOR SOMEONE WITH THAT NAME . THEY WILL CALL ALL THOSE PEOPLE ATTEMPTING TO HAVE SOMEONE WITH THAT NAME PAY OFF THAT PERSONS DEBT EVEN IF ITS NOT THEIRS. IF THEY HAVE YOUR SSI, BANK INFORMATION THEY MIGHT HAVE BOUGHT IT OFF LINE WHICH IS LEGAL BUT BAD. THIS IS MAJOR PART OF THE ILLEGAL SCAM.
person named norman with an middle eastern/indian decent voice called and left message stating that my lawyer or myself will need to return the call or legal issues will arise. i called the number back and got busy line...I am waiting til they call so i can tell them to meet me somewhere so i could give them my 2 cents of beat downs
I received the same call, and as soon as i hang up with him, went online,
did goole search of the phone number he called from, and this site came up. I was relieved at first, but got worried at the same time, because this guy has my personal info. So, I took your advices and reported him.
Officer Eric Fernando just called me from this number and accused me of money laundering and said he was going to take me to the Court of Pico Rivera. He had my SSN and my address. He actually called me at work. He said I owed something like $5,000.00 and needed to pay it immediately. He said he had an Affidavit and needed to send it to my attorney. I let him know that I was in pro per and he needed to send it to me...of course he didnt. I ended up hanging up on him.
I just got a call from a very heavily accented person by the name of Eric Fernando stating I or my attorney must call him back the second I get the message. He said that if I do not call back all he can do is wish me good luck.
From what I've been reading, it sounds like the same person/company that has been calling others.
Now, my question is, has anyone had any fraudlent stuff happen to them since the phone call? I've called my bank and put a flag on my account but is this something that needs furthur action on my part other than reporting it?
