Anyone randomly calling me at home and telling me a have a virus is trying to extort money from me. I went on the offensive immediately and asked questions about how they know I have a virus etc. I was told that they "microsoft" track everything on my computer, so I snapped back well ok then what is my external IP address. He started off by giving the incorrect address, so then I said thats incorrect then he proceeded to tell me to go to kenoxissystems.com and download some utility to remove the virus. First of all, I have 3 different anti virus software utilities that I use and apparently NONE of them know about this big virus I supposedly have. [***]... secondly I use linux almost exclusively and run an untangle box which scans all incoming connections for malicious code. Also any Microsoft affiliate would have given me a link directly to a Microsoft support page or technical article and not to a site selling remote tech support.

This is a scam/clever marketing campaign to scare people into buying their remote support service. So those of you defending them, they might legitimately provide remote tech support but I personally wouldn't touch them with a 50ft pole.

Also, if you were smart you would realize these posts claiming kenoxis systems is legitimate could just be the scammers replying. Also notice the poor grammar.. just my two cents.

Grammer is of no concern.
the person here might want to explain things in short that's why he may be using these shortcuts.
I got hold of them as soon as i started hearing that this organization is a scam.
They took me to the Microsoft and when i heard from genuine microsoft bureaucrats then i came to know that these people are affiliated to microsoft and microsoft had give them authority to act as a technical department for them.

The reason why people don't believe them is because citizens were not receiving calls from microsoft previously and now they have started receiving so they find this thing uncomfortable to get settle down.

The most important fact is that Microsoft does not makes call unless and untill you make them to do so. Your computer were sending error reports to microsoft and this mad them to call you people.
I think there are some people who were fired from this organisation that's why they are trying to take revenge by defaming the company, they might acting as a scam artist and then try to tweet such remarks.
I think this should satisfy these people.

One thing stands out, namely that English is not Paul's first language.

Error reports sent by PCs to Microsoft are not identified to any specific person making it impossible for Microsoft to know the source of the message.       Certainly they do not make telephone calls to resolve issues.

Let's ignore both grammar and spelling in some of the defensive posts  and simply concentrate on those facts.

If any person wishes to say that Microsoft do make phone calls would they please place in their posting the URL of any page on a genuine Microsoft site supporting their contention.
