Just got this call and did not answer. I tried calling back because my mom is visiting LA and the call never when through so looked up the number to be sure. Thanks 800 notes! I then googled this and the IRS has issued a warning for phone calls exactly like this - http://www.irs.gov/uac/Newsroom/Phone-Scams-C ... 5-Filing-Season

Someone called from this number and said there is a lawsuit filed against me and need me to call Robert Matthew. I asked him if he get the right person and he confirmed with my first and last name. I then asked him to confirm my address and he said, " I got the right person and address" I asked again what was my address and he then got angry and claimed an warrant will be issued to get me arrested if I don't call Robert Matthew immediately. I told him I don't believe him and he said he will have the police by my door in 5 mins.... I then hung up.
Received this call at 7am this morning . Indian sounding man claiming his name was Chris Evans and gave me some employee# and that he is from the Dept of Treasury and that I had an judgment againgst me for back taxes from 2009 and that I should of received notice of this by mail. Asked if I had an CPA or did them myself that year. Asked for my lawyer's name and address to send the legal documents too. Told me that detectives were nearby to arrest me for 6months and froze all my assessts. We didn't get to any personal financial information as I put him on speaker phone and my husband and I started to question him He had my address and knew my husband's name.. He supposedly then transferred me to a Supervisor of the Treasury-Robert Matthews and it was the same guy. I said this is the same guy and he said 'Ok" the detectivies are on their way and he hung up.
An Indian sounding man claiming his name was Chris Evans from the Dept of Legal Affairs left a voicemail on my phone (I don't answer unknown numbers). He's called twice in the past two hours. He said there was a legal matter against me, and I should have my attorney call him back, not to call myself. It would be in my best interest, if I have time to contact him to avoid further action against my name. What a bunch of crap.
