Just got this call and did not answer. I tried calling back because my mom is visiting LA and the call never when through so looked up the number to be sure. Thanks 800 notes! A woman identifying herself as Giselle Brown from the "legal affairs" office of the US Treasury calling from this number. It was easy to tell from the noise in the background that this was a call center. Blocking this number now.
I have contacted my local secret service branch, and have informed them of this. They said if anyone shows up at your house flashing credentials to immediately call your local secret service branch. As I former government employee, I asked the people who keep calling what their federal employee ID number is. The fed Emp ID # was a few digits to short. Not sure what their objective is by calling people and scaring them, as they never ask for money... Maybe just gathering info on the person they call. I would recommend everyone to call trans Union credit bureau and put a 90 day watch on your credit report! Trans Union will notify the other two credit bureaus for you!

Their objective is to get money. They will tell you all sorts of bad things are now gong to happen to you, but if you just send them some money by an untraceable means, they can make the whole thing go away.
