Is there no way to stop these scammers? Just since 7/12 they have called from three different numbers:

Overall I have recorded their use of twelve different numbers since last October with multiple calls from each number. If this is not harassment I guess I don’t know what harassment means.
This is apparently a California company making calls within California ignoring both Cal PUC and Federal regulations.
Try to block them and it works for a while but they just switch their calling number and the calls continue.
Computer hacker does not answer phone, so you call back and there you go, they have your number connected to their computer and use it for collect-international calls billed to your phone.
Maybe you'd care to share some solid and specific technical details of how all this telephony voodoo is supposed to work?
There are some scams which involve piggybacking calls, but nothing which works like you describe.
The biggest risk to a callback is that you are dialing a toll number which results in a huge charge on your bill. But again, really nothing much to do with hackers and computers.

This scam is apparently targeted at seniors.
