It's next to impossible to return items once you have fallen for this scam. I've found a fast and easy way to end these calls: let them get through their initial pitch about the new catalog and whatever seasonal special event that they are kicking off, then they always ask if I'm still using that 2" tape, same as ever, to which I respond "no, we're completely off tape here. We're exclusively using adhesives here." This confuses them enough to end the call. Feel free to use this non-sequitur next time they call, it's kind of fun.
I like to mess with these people when they call... and they call a lot! They told me today that they are shipping an order to us and that he needed to speak to the shipping supervisor. I asked him for the po#. He then said that it was something that they were shipping to us and not an order that they placed that we were shipping. I told him I needed the po# as reference before I transfered the call. He said that he had the supervisors direct # and would call her directly. Our supervisor is male.
Received a phone call this morning asking for the shipping manager. I am always very cautious of these type of calls and told this person that I handle S/R Department. I asked him if incoming or outgoing shipment. He said incoming. I asked what company-he id'd Dynatch. I still had decent composure until he said I was very rude....he said he was not going to bring in the shipment but was going to invoice me. I told him to have a nice day and hung-up. I immediately went on the web to see if this company Dyntech exists. Much to my surprise the numerous complaints...What a scam! I reported to the FCC @ https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/1088eform.do
Someone named Scott calls from Dynatech constantly insisting to talk to someone in our shipping department. He is rude and an outright jerk. I will find out who he works for and report him!
2008-09-05 - I called 800-960-1138 and spoke to a Patty at Dynatech. In reference to multiple phone calls from 213-537-1964. She was very polite and apologize. She said that she would have my company removed from the calling list and would speak to her supervisor about this. I told her that we have received many calls and hang ups from people that work at the telemarketing company. Lets see if this solves the problem and if they stop calling. I will not hold my breath.
Caller asked for shipping dept. I said we don't have one & he said "Oh, I see. They probably made a mistake." He asked to be connected to the warehouse or mailroom. When I said I run the mailroom, he hung up.
