But don't complain about the Do Not Call list, it has nothing to do with computers that call random strings of digits. It is not illegal to dial a number without knowing who should be at the other end. And with 'take your number with you' there is no longer even a fixed set of exchanges that mean cell-phone.
The technology does not have a solution to the problem yet. And I'm still trying to think of one.
Scam, scam, scam!!! (Prison Inmates???)
Got a phone call from a number that I don't "know" or recognize.
I didn't answer, but looked up the number here.
They left no message.
I am on the National Do-Not-Call List,
and have been for over a year now.
(I guess this is our government at work for us.)
I'm going to http://www.fcc.gov/complaints
AND to https://complaints.donotcall.gov/complaint/complaintcheck.aspx
and see if that can get the government
to work for me, and stop these calls.
(Yes I will go through all those steps.)
(I have also bookmarked these URL's.)
This number : 213-550-3111 is a survey. I called them back and it said if you wish to never participate in these surveys again, please press 2 now. i did so and it just kept repeating itself over and over and over. grrrrrrrr.
