Who called from 2139287123

M. Benavidez
I received a call on my home phone from the phone number 1-213-928-7123 and the voice on the other end was an Eastern Indian man claiming to be "Keith Nelson from the Department of Legal Affairs- US Treasury." What sounded like a recorded message telling me that I owed money and he was going to send the police to my home (he actually had my home address) to take me to jail. I hung up and called the number back, he has an official sounding voice mail but after a few times of calling he finally answered "hello". I hung up but proceeded to call him NON STOP for 6 hours and leave him messages. I went anywhere from threatening him back, to playing the songs "One way or Another" and "You're a Jerk", to blaring my door alarm,  screeching phone noises, complete silence,  laughing hysterically,  telling him what a piece of [***] he is, telling him that the FBI is going to HIS house, and that I posted his number on every social media site......the list goes on and on. At one point his voice mail was full. I don't care how much this costs me in long distance charges, I will continue to call him into the wee hours of the morning.

Do consider maybe getting a call blocking device or phone.. You can google them and many are around $50.00 or so.If its a cell phone, some already have call blocking, if not, there are free apps on the web that will work for some. You can google this. If you have a smart phone, there is a free app called call control. Iphones appear to have apps also. Another one is called Mr. Number.

M Benavidez......your post is hilarious!  I just received a call from this same phone number and let it go to my answering machine.  I heard the guy identify himself as Joshua Williams (heavy Indian accent) and he was from the Dept. of Legal Affairs-US treasury.  When I heard he was looking for our daughter, I lost it!  I picked up the phone and SCREAMED at him, "You sonofabuck!  How dare you call our house!  Our daughter doesn't live here anymore and I know this is a fraudulent call.  Don't you EVER call back here again!".  I slammed the phone down so hard that it's fortunate I didn't break it.  Our family is dealing with the impending death of a brother and this is the last thing I need my phone line to be mucked up with.  Hopefully, people are getting smarter and don't fall for this scam.  Maybe I'll get a whistle to put by my phone in case they ever call back again.  Someone is going to need a doctor to deal with a broken eardrum!

Rececived numerous calls from the Indian man and his threats scared my mother. He finally left a voicemail that was not clear. I attempted to call back to no avail. Do not listen to him it is definitely a scam.
