When I moved in to my current resident some 10 years ago the cable company misspelled my name. How they managed to turn a 4 letter name into a 7 letter monstrosity with only an initial “R” and no vowels in common has always been a mystery.
But it always alerts me when an entity; spammer, scammer, mass marketer contacts me using that misspelling, that they bought my name from the cable company lists.
Today Lockhart Morris contacted me using this name saying I owed money. These people used the non-existent person’s name. I asked who I owed it to. They could not tell me, only that it was a “finance company.” The only thing I have ever financed is my car and that is long paid for and I hold the title. I traded in my old car, which was also paid for, as the down payment 16 years ago.
And my cable bill is automatically deducted and paid up.
They did not have my real name so I asked them what address they had. They didn’t have one. They could not tell me, only that it was from a finance company. I asked when the debt was incurred; they could not tell me, only that it was from a finance company.
Did some checking and this company is in Texas. Did some more checking and it turns out Texas is a haven for illegitimate and semi-legitimate debt collectors. Scam artists. Despite what the Lockhart Morris employee has been paid to post in this site, a legitimate company would have my correct name, my correct address, the name, and date of any legal debt; and this boiler-room phone bank lacks all of those.
yeah pay the original debt not double or triple amount of money to a collection agency. That is basically extortion. Money collectors will resort to anything. The love of money is the root of all evil esp when you try to cheat people out of triple of what they really owe.
Sounds like you work for the company Lockhart Morris and Montgomery. They have poor customer service skills and probably would get a whole lot more money and debt collected if they knew how to talk to people. Stop acting like everybody is the same. Most times when somebody applies for a loan and payment plan is set up they can afford it, most people don't go into the situation saying My plan is to get over on this company. Communication is Key and they lack people skills. I called them to set up a payment plan and they told me that what i was asking to pay was unrealistic and they wanted me to pay $700 a month.. Realistically who can afford to add $700.00 a month on top of there monthly bills? I am going to go out here on an assumption and say that not even you would be able to add $700.00 extra a month for several months to your monthly bills of rent/mortgage, utilities, car, food, kids....
This is a fraudulent company made up company, because they use real company names, only it changes every time, they have real info on certain people and try to get a hold of more personal information. Do not acknowledge them. Clock them and they will move on from you. If they would be real, they would contact you directly thru different means just like anyone that you owe a bill to. DO NOT ACKNOWLEDGE that they got the right name or number. They are fake.
Called asking for family member. "Time sensitive Matter" "Want to hear their side" "No I am NOT a collection agency" "You were contact # given when an application was filled out" "you are a reference" "Victoria" "They are named in a claim, I must speak with them today" Lied and lied to get info from me. I told her I recorded it and I'm reporting her. He is a nurse and they threatened his license.
