Received a collect call today from this # and it asked for a credit card # stating it was a collect call from my sons friend. It has my sons friend voice on it. I knew he was going to Texas so I thought something was wrong and input my cc # but the system said it was declined which it shouldn't been. Now I am afraid that was a big mistake. Called the number back and answering message that the call couldnt be completed.
call come through around midnight june 1st . said it was a collect call from my daughter . we live in bc canada . called 411 they said it was from dallas texas. we know no one there. but dont know my daughter is, she is only 18 .
Got a call from this number at 1:30 AM...didn't answer it as I didn't recognize the number. Today, looked up the area code which is Texas. Tried calling the number & it was busy for awhile. Called later & no one ever answered.
This number has been calling my cell number none stop for over 2 hours. I haven't answered it cause I don't answer out of state phone numbers (I am in Colorado) I don't know. They never leave a message, just keep calling and calling and calling...

I think the comment posted 28may08 ILD is correct. It's merely an identification number used at public payphones and happens to have a Dallas area code. The people that are getting the strange calls, which appear to be coming from inside a prison, probably are if that prison has payphones with this communication service, and inmates are making random calls. My experience was legitimate, it was my husband calling me from a payphone in Miami as he misplaced his cell phone. Not to worry, but don't give out ANY personal information to strangers.
I live in New Mexico and I have been getting calls from this number too, last one came this morning about 11:53. I never answer it, and they haven't left a message so far.
