These fools called me at 3:42PM 1/4/08 (residential line) - I've had about 15 calls from them over the past few months. Filed complaints with the donotcall.gov site on all of them, FCC on some of them, and also filed complaints w/my State's Atty General (IL). It's generally ILLEGAL in Illinois to use a pre-recorded message for telemarketing - if they want to play a pre-recorded message, a human has to ask the called party first, then kick off the message...
So this BS where they call w/a pre-recorded message, is not gonna fly...
I just finished complaining to donotcall.gov, and I'm filing another complaint with the FCC and IL AG in a few minutes... Sick of these fools...
All telemarketers calling any #'s on the donotcall list should be strung up by their toenails and beaten with sticks in the town square as a warning against other violators...
Small Business Network Telemarker - I asked for an address told Boston - Cleaveland Area Code? Talked to a woman named Lisa, after I got as much info from her as I could, I told I was going to report her for violation of the do not call list, I Filed a complaint with Cleavelands BBB

Got a call from this 216-839-2146 number on Oct. 23, 2007 at 15:43. Showed up on my "Missed Calls" list on cell phone. I had gotten a number of these calls but not recognizing the number I had not returned them. But since I forward calls from my home office line to my cell when I'm away, I decided to look into it. Called them back. Person who answered call said they were "the Small Business Network" and they wanted to offer me a line of credit, blah, blah, blah. I told them they had been calling repeatedly and not to call. He basically said if my number was business related they could do whatever they wanted whereupon I told him to cut the crap and stop calling. They're wasting my time and there's. After hanging up, the thought occurred to me that it might actually be some kind of telephone phishing scam. Say "yes" to their offer and, of course, they'll need all this info from you including name, SS/FEIN numbers, address, birth date, etc.. Anyway, this morning, Oct. 30, 2007, at 10:43 I get a call from someone identifying himself as a doctor somewhere in New York. That he was tired of getting these calls from me. Turned out he was getting calls that appeared to be coming from my number from... you guessed it... Small Business Network. Apparently they're somehow spoofing or "joe-jobbing" my number; making calls and causing them to appear to be coming from somebody else's number. I didn't know that was possible, but a call to my local phone company and asking them, I find out it is, indeed, possible to do this. It's illegal, but possible to do. So, went ahead and am filing a complaint with the FCC. Suspect if anybody gets calls from these people, best thing may be to just hang up and go to https://esupport.fcc.gov/form1088/1088gform.do and file a complaint. If you engage them in any way, complain, or protest they may pull this same crap on you. I definitely would never give "Small Business Network" any kind of information on you or confirmation that you even exist. Smells like a criminal operation to me.
Hay!
Thank you for the FCC tip. I did file a report on 216-839-2146. Normally, I would not care less. But today this call got to me. No one calls my house at 9-20 am without a reason! So,I ran down the stairs in a hurry, because I thought the call was from by sick mom, holding hair dye in my hand. Then I fell, scratched my leg and now I have a big splash of hair color all over my stairwell. I agree and definitely would never give "Small Business Network" any kind of information on you or confirmation that you even exist. Smells like a criminal operation to me too. And now I would have to repaint my stairwell and tend to my leg as well.
Is there any legal way to make them pay for the "unintentional" harm that they have caused me and my house? Because I am really, really annoyed.
We get calls from this number, and several others, and I've reported them to the Do Not Call registry which hasn't seemed to slow them down. We had to buy Caller ID phones and now we just let the phone ring. I say again, can't these beasts find a real job? Sheesh.
