These fools called me at 3:42PM 1/4/08 (residential line) - I've had about 15 calls from them over the past few months. Filed complaints with the donotcall.gov site on all of them, FCC on some of them, and also filed complaints w/my State's Atty General (IL). It's generally ILLEGAL in Illinois to use a pre-recorded message for telemarketing - if they want to play a pre-recorded message, a human has to ask the called party first, then kick off the message...
So this BS where they call w/a pre-recorded message, is not gonna fly...
I just finished complaining to donotcall.gov, and I'm filing another complaint with the FCC and IL AG in a few minutes... Sick of these fools...
All telemarketers calling any #'s on the donotcall list should be strung up by their toenails and beaten with sticks in the town square as a warning against other violators...
I received a call from this number trying to sell me a Notary Signing Franchise. He originally started at $10,000, but when I said it was too high, he had his assistant call to inform me that there had been a reduction in the franchise cost. I received another call from this number but did not answer. The caller left a message stating that he would speak with his boss (initially he told me he owned the company), to get "Approval" to offer me the franchise for $5,380 even though the company would be selling the franschise at a loss. He stated they would provide training to me at their Cleveland, Ohio office after I joined. Obviously, I have not returned his call.
P.S. He calls every other day, but has stopped leaving messages.
boy was i yelled at today. i don't get a person, just a recording. offers of something from kathy to small businesses. i was sick today & did not feel like fooling with it at all. finally got mad enough to redial number and got a mary on the line. told her not to call this number again and that is when the yelling really began. have gotten these calls numerous times. when she yelled at me "are you through"? i yelled back "are you"? i will confess that the yelling continued. i feel better, i don't know if she does. she said it takes 30 days to get your name off the list, and i told her after that time i had better not get another one. i have heard that the no call list does not apply to businesses, don't know for sure. we have retired, but thanks to AT&T we have been told we have to pay for the contract we have for a business phone!!!!!!! thanks AT&T!!!!!!
