These fools called me at 3:42PM 1/4/08 (residential line) - I've had about 15 calls from them over the past few months. Filed complaints with the donotcall.gov site on all of them, FCC on some of them, and also filed complaints w/my State's Atty General (IL). It's generally ILLEGAL in Illinois to use a pre-recorded message for telemarketing - if they want to play a pre-recorded message, a human has to ask the called party first, then kick off the message...
So this BS where they call w/a pre-recorded message, is not gonna fly...
I just finished complaining to donotcall.gov, and I'm filing another complaint with the FCC and IL AG in a few minutes... Sick of these fools...
All telemarketers calling any #'s on the donotcall list should be strung up by their toenails and beaten with sticks in the town square as a warning against other violators...
I keep getting the same calls as all of you. I let the machine answer, and they hang up. I keep sending a report to the "DO Not Call ", but so far nothing has been done to stop these calls.
This is a comment from another unidentified caller site:
“The wanted to offer me a credit for my small business--which I don't have. This is the 3rd call in 3 days. I told the girl I had already asked to be place on their "do not call" list, she smarted off that I should know it could take up to 30 days to be completed and I might get other calls then hung up on me. I can't find out anything more, or I would report them to the BBB.”
My husband was talking to these people on the phone and asked that I investigate once they requested our checking and routing info over the phone. They said that they needed it to verify the business and also for a one time $95 processing fee for "membership" in their program. They defended the request by saying that they could get the same info off of a check but after speaking to my bank guy, he said that this is not true and to NEVER give this info over the phone because they have more flexability w/ it if it is given over the phone and that any info they would need, the bank can verify without us giving that info. When I called SBN back, the girl transfered me to a supervisor who said that they needed the info for the processing fee and could not explain why they would not charge the fee to the mastercard like every other credit card in the world. Bottom line, NEVER give anyone you don't know your info over the phone and no company should require a processing fee up front- NO COMPANY!! This is a huge red flag! OH, by the way, they told me they were out of California, not Boston or Chicago like others have reported. The phone number we were given is 800-895-6827
