The best way to mess with these people is tell them you'll donate so have them send you a bill then send it back with no money and write on the bill to take you off their list. They get no money and it cost them postage.
I called my local Police Dept. They told me to tell them to "GO AWAY" SO, they are not getting any money from me. Tell them to put you on their DO NOT CALL REGISTRY LIST. If they call again tell them you are turning them into the better business bureau.
Beware: The Police Protective Fund.

An organization named The Police Protective Fund is calling people in the area soliciting contributions. I got two calls today. The Police Protective Fund is a scam and one of the worst-performing “charities” in the nation, giving virtually nothing to police. Don’t give them a penny.

Caller: Police Protective Fund
I have been getting calls from this bunch calling themselves the Police Protection Fund for over 4 years(apx.) now. On several occasions, we have told them to stop calling, progressing from polite to downright nasty. Finally, we just don't answer but the incessant ringing is annoying to say the least. I really would like to put a stop to this. If anyone can come up with an address, I will co to the courthouse. I know someone that has won recently against them.
