Not sure what these people are. They call and when I answer, they hang up. I tried to 'return' the call and got the same treatment. I just got a new phone number, so I don't think they are looking for me. I just want to know who they are looking for, so I can get them to stop calling.
I finally got a hold of a real person. It was a collection agency looking for a man and, since I am a woman, I definitely wasn't the correct person. Supposedly, my number has been taken off the list as a wrong or defunct phone number for their target. Hopefully, I will no longer get annoying hangup phone calls from this company, but I won't hold my breath.
Called twice today at 12:20 and 12:51 I said hello and waiting.. heard nothing and it just hung up. I dont have any loans i dont have and Credit cards I live in a small town where all services are local. I am on the do not call list. I called back got a recording and it directed me to First National Credit

First of all find out who and where they are located. Through an internet search. Send them a Cease And Desist letter (online form available). Send it certified letter. If the judgement was past the statute of limitations they cannot do anything but harass you into paying it. (15 years ago) I found an attorney through a Google search (can I sue a debt collector?) who helped file a lawsuit against Afni Collection for calling me day and night. I got a small settlement but it was worth it. I know this caller isn't from there. If they call you after sending them the letter... they will be sued. Don't take harassment or abuse from them. Stand up for your rights.
