I just registered my cell phone on the "do not call" list today and got a call from this number tonite. I didn't answer and they didn't leave a message.
Same scenero, they said it was regarding my card ending in 016. And they offered me the Walmart $50 free deal. All this at a cost to me of $1.00. I told them I don't have a card ending in 016. All this started happening after I went in to Chase Bank to talk about one of my cards and he talked me into an upgrade. This is how they protect our private information, by selling our phone number to telemarketing companys. I am going back in and cancel the card.
it's a michigan number. i called it back and they just said i had reached the marketing department - gave an option to be placed on their do not call list by pressing one so i did. we'll see.....
The calls keep coming in. The caller says "I am calling in regards to you Visa card ending in xxxx and I am sending you a $50.00 Wal-Mart gift card and a $50.00 gas discount card for the low price of $1.00." I have told the caller I am not interested and this is a no-call state, so please remove me from your call back list. They continue to call, so my next step is to report them to the state no call registry and let their office handle it. Definitely a scam-be aware!!!
